Image result for hawaiiTaking it back to the United States this week, living in Michigan isn't exactly the definition of a dream vacation destination. Although it has some gorgeous sights, I’m more of a hot all the time, sun tanning, palm tree kind of girl. One place in the U.S. that depicts my dream is Hawaii. This state contains many islands that have many attractions. In a week vacation it is impossible to visit every island and take in all of what Hawaii has to offer, but you can to it piece by piece. The island is quite a bit off the mainland of America, from Michigan it takes about thirteen hours, but it is all worth it when you are decorated with a beautiful lei and have a drink in hand as you arrive on site of your hotel.

Hawaii was the last state to join the United States, they official became one of us in 1959. This the only state in America that has their own language, others have strong slang or accents and dialects, but Native Hawaiians speak their own language. In addition, the state of Hawaii only contains 10% Native Hawaiians on the islands, and the other 1.2 million people are American. Back in 1853 there were only 2,000 out of 73,000 people who were not native to the land.  As time goes on the native people are becoming more and more scarce, but they still hold strongly to the culture and beliefs.

When one thinks of Hawaii they automatically think of lei flowers, tiki torches, and palm trees. Although these things are all over in this tropical state, it is not the only thing that is fun and interesting about this place. After doing some research, I would have to say, I would stay at The Lodge of Kukui’ula on the island of Kauai. Even though I would want to spend most of my time in the wonderful accommodations of the hotel this gorgeous island has to offer, I wouldn’t. I would be out zip-lining across through the trees, above the waterfalls and lakes, and renting an ATV to see everything below that I didn’t catch while zip lining. The ATV trails extend twenty-three miles, you come across hidden beaches and travel through tunnels, and later end the trip at a beautiful waterfall overlooking a mountain pool, in which you are welcome to jump in and take a swim. You can also take to opportunity to go to Koloa Bass fishing and catch-and-release a multitude of different species of fish, from small and large mouth bass to tilapia and tucunare.  I really enjoy fishing, but being able to fish on a beach, overlooking mountains and crystal clear water, would defiantly be a plus.

Before reading about Hawaii, it was somewhere I knew I want to go, but after I read more about it, saw more pictures, this is defiantly some place I need to go. It is safer due to the fact that it is in the U.S. and travel is iffy right now, and it has everything any one could ever want. You could go island hopping, or just pick one and stay for the whole vacation; either way one would defiantly enjoy themselves on this vacation.
