Image result for egyptian hieroglyphics .If you were to fly, almost directly, half way around the world, you would eventually run into the middle east, were Egypt, Israel, Libya and many more countries are located. Out of all the countries around that area I would like to go to Egypt most of all. Although Egypt might not be the safest destination to travel to, considering the events that have been happening around the world today, it is one of the oldest and most historical places you will ever encounter.  From the pyramids, to the hieroglyphic rock carvings, a tour around the area would be incredibly educational and one that would be remembered forever.

Egypt was founded in 3150 BC by King Menes, although when one thinks of Egypt the first thing that they think of is the pyramids, they were not constructed until later years, around    2700 BC. It would be truly incredible to go back in time and look at what life was like back then, to see how people lived, what they wore, and their rituals. It may be quite a culture shock from America, but it would be remarkable. I’m just very curious as to what their daily routines were, what they made for dinner every night, and what the popular jobs were.

It also offers discounted tours to Cairo, Giza, Dahab, and many other cities. One of the first tours that I would take would be to Giza, this hosts some of the most ancient monuments in the world. While camel back riding, you can see sacred structures, such as the Great Sphinx and the Great Pyramid of Giza, along with many temples. Another area I would make a point to see while I am there is the Suez Canal. In world history you are taught about so many things and to be able to see one of the things you read about and weren’t interested in at all, all those years ago would be fascinating.

In addition, booking an autumn trip would probably be the best, the weather in Egypt varies from extremely hot and dry to incredibly cool. The climate there is almost unbearable. Most of the people are centered around the Nile Valley and Delta, so about 99% of the population lives on 5.5% of the land. Here in America that sounds so strange because we’re are growing so rapidly and can’t imagine all our population in one place.
Overall, this may not be the best place to travel right now, it is still a dream of mine. It is very dangerous to travel, well really anywhere outside of the United States, but you can’t stop your life because you are too scared. I may just have to google pictures of this unique region, but maybe that’s for the best. Next week I will share another one of my dream destinations.

Image result for cancun mexicoClose your eyes and imagine the calming sound of waves crash upon the sandy shore line; imagine the feeling of the soft, warm sand in between your toes, and the humid, hot air brushing across your face. This is what I picture when I think of a perfect paradise, relaxing outside all day under a straw umbrella and sitting in a beach chair enjoying the perfect weather. Living in Michigan is so great and I wouldn’t change it for the world, but this picture is not located in the unpredictable, mild summer that Michigan has to offer. It would be in the tropical paradise of Cancun, Mexico; just the sound of that makes me want jump in the pool and lay out in the sun.

Image result for cancun mexicoCancun was once a deserted island that many people had forgotten about. It mostly consisted of marshes, jungles, and had a couple of large sand dunes separated from in land Mexico by wide canals.  The grand city that is located in the Yucatán peninsula now, was once a forgotten place few knew about. When people began to figure out this unknown location could be a tourist destination they started the Cancun Project, they had three areas that they needed to build in order for it to be prosperous. The first area that would depend on how the new found city would flourish is the tourist zone, this is where the grand resorts would be built, accommodating the laughter of children in the air and parents with a cool beverage in hand, and the shops and multitude of restaurants would be located. Since tourists aren’t the only ones this city needed, they figured they would build a residential zone for permanent housing. The last area they built, thinking of the tourist of course, was the international air strip, it was created to get them from “A” to “B” making it possible for them to travel with ease and land directly in the tropical city they were staying.

Picturing the beach is so relaxing to me, but another reason why I want to travel to Mexico is to learn more about the culture and walk around the small villages and explore all the little downtown shops. Although I don’t care for history all that much, it would be a great experience to see some of the Mayan ruins. One of the ruins I would like to visit is called Las Ruinas Del Rey, it is located in the hotel district and was discovered in the 1800s. I would take a little tour and have someone explained further into detail about this historic attraction because reading a little here and there from the internet does not do it justice. Food would be next on the agenda, in every culture food is a very important aspect.  I would make it a point to jump around from restaurant to restaurant and get a different meal each time, whether it be a simple taco or one of the most extravagant dinners I could find. I would be sitting down eating my taco, swaying back and forth to the rhythm of the Latin music in the background. That brings me to the last thing, I would thoroughly enjoy the music, having it play twenty-four seven would be just fine with me. Everyone enjoys music, but Latin music has a certain rhythm that just brings a smile to my face every time I hear it.

Post #1 "Why I Chose Traveling"

During the next couple weeks, I will be blogging about traveling. I will talk about where I would like to go and why, a little bit of background about that city or country, and the best things to do. The reason why I chose this topic is because, although, I have not traveled much in my life, I really want to in the future and this is a way to investigate where and what I would want to do, and share with others the beauty of the world.

Furthermore, I love to explore cities that I have never been before, even if they are just in Michigan. I enjoy looking at pictures of foreign countries and examining the architecture of the castles and looking at the relaxing sea side beaches. I haven’t really been able to escape from the small town of Frankenmuth and explore destinations outside of my tiny little town, and I’m excited to learn about the many different cultures around the world. I’m so used to living in the little bubble of Frankenmuth and I don’t know about much outside of it.

A dream come true would be the ability to look out the window in the hotel I would stay at and see Big Ben or watch the surfers hit the waves. I know it won’t be happening for a while, so for now I will investigate the best tourist destinations and see what is out there. I have many dream destinations most are tropical because my favorite season is summer and being able to swim in the ocean and go snorkeling with the sea creatures sounds like a blast. On the contrary, I would also love to visit England, Scotland, and Germany because my mom and I love to watch old English and Scottish movies and it would be truly amazing to witness some of the locations that those shows were shot in. Obviously, I would have to visit Germany because I live in “Little Bavaria” and it would be interesting to see if it really looks the same and how their way of life is out there. Overall, I will be covering tropical and historical destinations around the world.

The first place I will talk about is the tropical paradise of Cancun, Mexico.
